Best for farmers, excellent for tourism
Cameron Hills Eco Park is located at Ulu Kelantan, only about 30 minutes from the Cameron Highlands. Total 5000 acres of land will be focus on agriculture development. There are approximately 1,300 acres of land located at 1,000-1,500M from sea level. The highland climate between 17 ◦c to 24 ◦c is excellent to plant cash crops such as vegetable, flowers, mushroom etc. The other parts of this land is good for permanent crop, rubber, agar wood (gaharu), castor oil plant etc.
In order to achieve a holistic development for this piece of land, the basic infrastructure will be provided by East Green Plantation and Koperasi PROIT Malaysia Berhad will spear head in other development, such as:
- High Tech Cold Storage Warehouse
This is the key to the supply logistic. This facility enables the farmers to store their harvest, process, packing and keep it fresh for much longer time. Hence it stabilizes the supply demand factor.
- Agriculture Research Centre
50 acres of land have been allocated for this research center. The Taiwan based company will be investing huge lamp sum of money for the R&D in this research centre and 4 agriculture specialists ( Agronomist ) will be based here to assist the local farmers. They will focus mainly on tissue culture, organic farming, Cryo genetic germinating & other agriculture technologies.
- Organic Farm
World wide organic food demand is increasing significantly. More than 100 acres of lands surrounded by the native forest have been planed for organic farming. This is to ensure high quality organic cash crops with international organic farming standard.
- Organic Fertilizer Production Centre
To further support the organic farming. Dr David Tan will also introduce the technology of producing low-cost, high quality organic fertilizer to Cameron’s farmers.
- Charity Herbal Farm
Approximately 50 acres of land will be contributed for planting live saving herbals. Dr. David Tan is also a certified herbals specialist. He will cultivate more than 200 types of herbals especially for chronic and degenerative diseases. All patients from worldwide are welcome to pick their needs from this farm for FREE.
- Eco Park
Maintaining the beauty of native forest, agro tourism focus, the Eco Park will bring a new identity for Cameron Hills. This is going to be the “MUST Go” place for every tourist.
- Agronomy Centre
The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has allocated a sum of fund to establish this research centre. The mission of this center is to improve and provide the right technology for highlands farmers. They will research in crop rotation, irrigation, drainage, plant breeding, plant physiology, soil classification, soil fertility, weed control and pest control.
